Ken Anderson befriended John Michael, while he was a student at Grace College in Winona Lake Indiana.  Ken helped John through a difficult time when John realized that he just wasn't ready for college life, and encouraged John to enter the United States Navy.  After serving as a United States Navy Hospital Corpsman, John returned to cartooning, and with Ken's guidance  built a successful Christ centered media company.
"Ken was always just a phone call away.  I miss him greatly.  Now that I am the same age he was when I first met him, I find myself in the role he was for me, and now I understand what he meant when he used to say, "the greatest joy in life is when you can help others find in Christ their greatest potential."
Shortly after leaving Grace College and prior to his joining the United States Navy, John had the opportunity to work with Mike Hicks of "Hicks Advertising" of Columbus Ohio.  Hicks was a Taft Tanner Animation affiliate, and this allowed John to have his first meeting with Mr. William Hanna of Hanna Barbara.  Hanna told John that art was a language and rules had to be followed for animation and character design to work.  Years later while John was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego, Mr. Hanna allowed him to "horse around" at the studios, and provided John solid guidance in the development of his talent  and characters.  According to John, although being demanding, Mr. Hanna was one of the kindest persons he ever met.
While stationed in San Diego with the United States Navy John had the opportunity to learn from Larry Harmon a legend in Cartoon development.  Larry often provided advice to John on Characters he was working on and the business John was building.  "Larry taught me to enjoy the work and to keep in touch with those I was drawing for.  He had fun in his work, and developed an excellent team at his studio.  Though I wasn't a member of that California crew, he gave me something I value much more, a friend."
  •About Our Founder

Our little company began with the dreams of an eight year old child who won a "safety Poster" contest.  Inspired by his art teacher Velma Derbyshire, the young lad started copying cartoon characters, and then drawing his own.

At age 10 he painted a Peacock on the window of a business in his home town during an Easter Window Painting Contest and wrote the words, "Easter is a Time of Beauty and Art" under the colorful image.  He took first place in the contest which was judged by nationally known cartoonist Larry Harmon.  It was the first time the young artist had been critiqued by a real cartoonist.
At age 12, our founder had already appeared on two television shows and had created three commercial logos.

At age 17 our founder John Michael Vincent Moore won the Derbyshire scholarship to Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana.  Grace was a popular Liberal Arts College and Seminary.

"Grace was a great college, but I wasn't such a great student.  I'm sure that shortly after I got there, the administrative staff was wondering why they ever invited me," John said. "I wasn't a bad kid, but I was definitely a fish out of water.  I had grown up in church, but I wasn't religious.  I had an academic faith that reached as deep as knowing what others expected to hear, not an actual relationship with Christ."

John stayed at Grace for two years, but had trouble applying himself and trying to fit in.  He  after consoling with his friend Ken Anderson left the college and moved to Columbus Ohio.

From those days at
OHIO to now, John has created over 1200 logos, 150 comic characters, provided over 100 voice characters, and has made guest appearances on several different TV shows.

John has served as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy, a Medical Illustrator, a Forensic Graphic Consultant,  and has had a career in Law Enforcement Graphics now stemming over  25 years.

John started his graphic studio some 30 years ago as RMK Studios.  Later on, John changed the name of the company to "Lancergraphics"  in honor of his first college.  In the year 2009, as the company continued to grow, a decision was made to change the company name to "Lancer  Media Group to better reflect the services offered by the company.

Today directing a team of artist, John still relies on the wisdom he learned from his old friend and mentor Ken Anderson.
"the greatest joy in life is when you can help others find in Christ their greatest potential."
Our founder John Michael Moore with
Hilary Clinton in 2008.  John  had the
opportunity to speak with her
privately about Veteran's Concerns
during her campaign for the office of
President of The United States.
"I found her to be sincere, not plastic like many politicians.  She genuinely heard what I said, and she acted on it in her campaign." John replied.
"She has a genuine love and concern for America, and in her role as Secretary of State she is doing her best.  We don't always agree, but no two humans do.  But I will always wonder how things would have been if she had won the primary."

I believe in a living God, who is both Lord and Savior.  I believe in a scripture that never changes... Inspired by God, that offers hope to all mankind.  I believe because I have seen the alternative.  My God never fails, and has heard my deepest prayers.
Hi Folks;
I would like to take just a few moments of your time to tell you what makes this company different from the other graphic art studios that you will find.  The difference is the foundation that it is built upon.
I won't bore you with the details of my life that have caused me to feel compelled to thank God for all he has done in my life, but I will tell you that in these 50 plus years I have spent on planet Earth, I have become convinced of God's presence and the necessity of surrendering my will to him.
We have all heard that verse where Paul says, " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".   Allow me to put it another way, " I can't achieve any good thing without God's help!"  Everything I have today, every door that has opened for me, every blessing I have ever had is by the hand of a loving and caring God.    I know that I am taking a big risk by putting my testimony on my company's website.  I know that there are some who get offended anymore at the mere mention of Christianity.  But it wouldn't be right if I didn't give credit to God for all he has done in my life.
I grew up in the church, attended a really solid Christian College in Indiana, and as a young man had a very religious character.  I didn't smoke.  I didn't drink.  I didn't do wild women.  I quoted scripture.  I prayed publicly.  I was religious, and I was a hypocrite.  I really came to realize it in Professor Manahan's Old Testament Theology class.  I took lots of notes, but didn't comprehend what I was writing, and I had too much of an ego to ask for help.
Confused and frustrated, I dropped out of Grace College. I had some very wonderful friends who tried to help me find my way back then, Joseph Lehman who now teaches at Grace, was the most sincere friend a man could ask for.  His family made many sacrifices for me, and yet my pride and my ego kept getting in the way.
After going to OHIO STATE and later living in Dayton Ohio, and serving on one of America's most respected rescue teams,
I joined the United States Navy finally following the advice of my long time friend
and mentor Ken Anderson.
The United States Navy was one of the best choices I ever made in my life.  It was while in the Navy, several years after leaving Grace College that I accepted Christ.
Life hasn't been easy.  Like all Christians, even those who prefer not to admit it, I have had my ups and my downs.  I have had my triumphs and victories, and I have had my failures and losses.
It took me many years to learn to appreciate all that God sends our way.  I look back over my life now, and I realize how blessed I have truly been.  When I think of the people I have had the opportunity of knowing over the years, and how they influenced my life, I am thankful for all of them.
God's plan for my life took me on a completely different path than what I had charted for myself.  I have had a career in Law Enforcement Graphics that has now spanned over 25 years.  I have also been blessed with a long and successful career in graphics.  I am part of an awesome church now, and have been blessed with a truly inspiring circle of friends.  Every tragic thing that happened in my life God has turned into a blessing.  I lost my wife and my son to a drunk driver several years ago, and yet God has blessed me with seven wonderful foster and adopted children.
The reason I am writing this is not to preach at you, or to throw RELIGION at you.  The world has enough churches with fancy buildings, manicured lawns and "perfect people".  I am writing this because I know that there are those who in these economic times are hurting, and wondering where their hope is to come from.  The truth is, the real world has a lot of ugliness in it, and life isn't peaches and cream.  But you don't have to go it alone.  God is real.  I know.... And he does care.  Real Christians aren't called to judge and condemn others, but we are called to share what good God has done in our lives.  We are called to forgive and to pray for our enemies.  Not that they will be treated cruelly, but that they might find that same life, love and peace that is in knowing Christ.  I have been blessed with many good friends.  They are of many faiths, Jewish, Muslim,  Hindu, and Buddhist, however my faith is Christian.   I am bound by love to a standard of morals that I live by.   It is a matter of choice not obligation.   Over the years God has filled my life with many blessings.  A few months ago I got out that old folder from Dr. Manahan's class.  30 years after being there it finally made sense.  It took a man half my age who I have a great deal of respect to finally get me to understand it.  That man who once served on the Sheriff's Office with me, is now an FBI agent.   The lesson he taught me is that Christianity is not and never has been about RELIGION, it is about living.
